Jerry is the Chairman of G. J. Sullivan Co. Reinsurance. With over 60 years of in-depth and extensive experience in numerous aspects of the insurance business (regulatory, investment, company, claims, program manager, reinsurance and wholesale intermediary), Jerry brings unique skills, ability and contacts as leader of this outstanding organization.
Having grown up in an insurance family, Jerry moved to Southern California in the early ‘70s where he worked with George Walker in the development and expansion of a varied book of property & casualty business including the largest medical professional liability insurance program in the U.S. During this time, Jerry also oversaw a large book of treaty reinsurance business on behalf of the family reinsurance intermediary firm, John F. Sullivan Co. In the early ‘80s he established the company Gerald J. Sullivan & Associates and, along with various partners, developed a number of new companies and insurance products such as structured settlements.

Thom has a comprehensive understanding of specialty insurance (both admitted and non-admitted/surplus lines) across a broad spectrum of industry classes & products, including distribution. He is a senior executive in Specialty, Reinsurance and Personal & Commercial Lines insurance who understands the big picture and the minute detail; effectively manages operational interdependencies; appreciates the value of business relationships, and recognizes market complexities. Thom served on for-profit and non-profit boards of directors and numerous corporate committees. He is able to translate conceptual ideas into tangible products or services to maximize competitive advantage and market opportunity; and effectively integrate technology to generate revenue, reduce expenses and create differentiation.
In his 40+ years in insurance and reinsurance, Thom has acted as President of Sullivan Brokers Wholesale Insurance Solutions, Division President of Great American Custom Insurance Services, Senior Vice President at American Re-Insurance and Vice President at the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies.

Steve began his reinsurance career in the early 1980s as a treaty reinsurance underwriter in the Reinsurance and Overseas Operations of the Transamerica Insurance Group in Los Angeles.
He moved on in 1986 to work in the Reinsurance Division of TheZenith Insurance Group, ultimately becoming a Vice President and Chief Reinsurance Underwriter.
Steve left TheZenith in 2006 and joined GJS Re in 2007 where he has worked on a variety of programs.

In August of 2012 John joined GJS RE as Senior Vice President, Head of Facultative Reinsurance in charge of developing the Facultative operation. GJS Re’s creative, customer-driven approach matches well with the successful formula that John has used throughout his career.
John has more than 35 years of experience in the reinsurance industry. During his career, he has been responsible for all U.S. property facultative operations at both Guy Carpenter and Collins Associates, and was a founder of Palmer & Cay Reinsurance Brokers and Savannah Reinsurance Underwriting Management LLC.

John has over 40 years of insurance and reinsurance experience. John joined GJS Re in 2018, moving over from Burt & Scheld Facultative Corp, where he managed a facultative portfolio of over $30M.
Following a 20-year stretch with Guy Carpenter early in his career, John began to focus on reinsurance, spending 3 years with General Reinsurance Corp., 4 years with Swiss Re America and 12 years with THB Intermediaries.

Jodi graduated from the University Of Minnesota in 1998 with a BA in Communications. She began her post-college career working in the Employee Benefits Department of a local Minneapolis bank.
From 1999 to 2008, Jodi was a Reinsurance Broker at Holborn Corporation, an independent reinsurance intermediary based in New York City, where she placed various multi-line, per risk, property catastrophe, casualty and workers’ compensation treaties for single state, regional and specialty lines carriers. She also spent time in London working with Holborn’s correspondent brokers and produced Industry Loss Warranty business in Bermuda.
In 2008, Jodi moved to Los Angeles and joined GJS Re. Jodi manages the placement of facultative and treaty reinsurance for GJS Re’s West Coast program and insurance carrier clients and has developed program business for MGA clients in such diverse areas as Motorsports, Fire Arms Manufacturing, Video Game Developers, Trucking and Transportation, Homeowners Associations and Bail Enforcement Officers.

Sharon began her insurance career in 1999 with The Hartford as a Marketing Manager in the Personal Lines division. In 2003, she shifted to the reinsurance brokering business, specializing in property facultative reinsurance with broker teams including Palmer & Cay, Collins Associates, and Guy Carpenter. Sharon joined GJS Re in 2012 as a Broker Analyst in the Essex, Connecticut office.

Ed is an experienced manager specializing in facultative technical operations. In his extensive career, he has headed the development of staff and procedures to service home office level claims, contract drafting, systems and accounting. He is recognized for his ability to plan and implement cost-effective strategies to support a single production site or a complete network of facultative operations serviced from a central hub. Ed has solid all around technical skills and a proven ability to collaborate with producers, clients and fellow managers to meet facultative service requirements.

Doug began his insurance career with Transamerica in 1998, helping reconcile outstanding premiums for a backlog of payroll deduction premiums on life insurance policies. After a year and a half, Doug moved to the IT department where he assisted in designing and testing programs to automate the application of premiums. Doug connected with Kevin Davis Insurance Services in 2003 and was soon promoted to Assistant Vice President Director of Operations. In 2018, Doug joined GJS Re to strengthen and support the transition of accounting and bookkeeping duties.
