Jerry is the Chairman of G. J. Sullivan Co. Reinsurance. With over 60 years of in-depth and extensive experience in numerous aspects of the insurance business (regulatory, investment, company, claims, program manager, reinsurance and wholesale intermediary), Jerry brings unique skills, ability and contacts as leader of this outstanding organization.
Having grown up in an insurance family, Jerry moved to Southern California in the early ‘70s where he worked with George Walker in the development and expansion of a varied book of property & casualty business including the largest medical professional liability insurance program in the U.S. During this time, Jerry also oversaw a large book of treaty reinsurance business on behalf of the family reinsurance intermediary firm, John F. Sullivan Co. In the early ‘80s he established the company Gerald J. Sullivan & Associates and, along with various partners, developed a number of new companies and insurance products such as structured settlements.

Thom has a comprehensive understanding of specialty insurance (both admitted and non-admitted / surplus lines) across a broad spectrum of industry classes & products, with extensive experience in underwriting, claims and distribution. He is a senior executive with an extensive background in Specialty, Reinsurance and Personal & Commercial Lines insurance who understands the big picture and the minute detail; effectively manages operational interdependencies; appreciates the value of business relationships and recognizes market complexities. Thom capably translates conceptual ideas into tangible products or services to maximize competitive advantage and market opportunity.
With more than 40 years in insurance and reinsurance, Thom was previously President of Sullivan Brokers Wholesale Insurance Solutions, President of Great American Custom Insurance Services, Chief Claims Officer & Senior Vice President at American Re-Insurance, Chief Commercial Claims Officer & Vice President at the Farmers Insurance Group of Companies, and a Farmers retail agent. Over the years, Thom has served on a variety of for-profit and non-profit boards of directors and numerous corporate committees.

Lois was hired in late 2009 to grow GJS Re’s portfolio of program business. She has specialized in program placements, including admitted/non-admitted, primary and reinsurance, for more than 20 years. Lois is recognized as a pioneer in the program segment, due to her industry involvement, publications/interviews, teaching, knowledge and contacts.
Prior to joining GJS Re, Lois was the National Sales Leader/Programs for ERC/Swiss Re. From 2000-2007, under her leadership, ERC launched 65 programs, generating GWP of $2.5B.
Lois has held management and executive positions with retail and wholesale insurance agencies, insurance companies, third-party administrators and in public and private sector risk management.

In August of 2012 John joined GJS RE as Senior Vice President, Head of Facultative Reinsurance in charge of developing the Facultative operation. GJS Re’s creative, customer-driven approach matches well with the successful formula that John has used throughout his career.
John has more than 40 years of experience in the reinsurance industry. During his career, he has been responsible for all U.S. property facultative operations at both Guy Carpenter and Collins Associates, and was a founder of Palmer & Cay Reinsurance Brokers and Savannah Reinsurance Underwriting Management LLC.

Steve began his reinsurance career in the early 1980s as a treaty reinsurance underwriter in the Reinsurance and Overseas Operations of the Transamerica Insurance Group in Los Angeles.
He moved on in 1986 to work in the Reinsurance Division of TheZenith Insurance Group, ultimately becoming a Vice President and Chief Reinsurance Underwriter.
Steve left TheZenith in 2006 and joined GJS Re in 2007 where he has worked on a variety of programs.

John has over 40 years of insurance and reinsurance experience. John joined GJS Re in 2018, moving over from Burt & Scheld Facultative Corp, where he managed a facultative portfolio of over $30M.
Following a 20-year stretch with Guy Carpenter early in his career, John began to focus on reinsurance, spending 3 years with General Reinsurance Corp., 4 years with Swiss Re America and 12 years with THB Intermediaries.

Insurance and reinsurance veteran Chris Harrington joined GJS Re as vice president in 2021.
Chris brings three decades of property facultative experience from Swiss Rehandling a variety of underwriting, marketing, and management roles over 29 years. At Swiss Re, Chris was named Midwest regional property facultative manager in 2009.
Previously, Chris served as an excess and surplus (E&S) underwriter at Chubb Group of Companies and as a personal lines underwriter at Amica Mutual Group.

Jodi graduated from the University Of Minnesota in 1998 with a BA in Communications. From 1999 to 2008, Jodi was a Reinsurance Broker at Holborn Corporation, an independent reinsurance intermediary based in New York City, where she placed various multi-line, per risk, property catastrophe, casualty and workers’ compensation treaties for single state, regional and specialty lines carriers.
Jodi joined GJS Re in 2008 and currently handles property facultative reinsurance for GJS Re’s insurance carrier clients. She is based in San Antonio, Texas.

Sharon began her insurance career in 1999 with The Hartford as a Marketing Manager in the Personal Lines division. In 2003, she shifted to the reinsurance brokering business, specializing in property facultative reinsurance with broker teams including Palmer & Cay, Collins Associates, and Guy Carpenter. Sharon joined GJS Re in 2012 as a Broker Analyst in the Essex, Connecticut office.
